Chris Daniels to team up with Mudiay in Guangdong

Chris Daniels and the Guangdong Southern Tigers have reached a one-year deal despite being cut by the Liaoning Leopards last season after eight games.

The former Texas A&M-Corpus Christi star will join the former Texas high school superstar Emmanuel Mudiay creating a Texas connection alongside former NBA lottery pick Yi Jianlian who once upon a time played for the Dallas Mavericks.

Going back to Daniels’ last season with Liaoning; he was cut despite having a guaranteed contract with the Leopards.

After refusing to pay Daniels the remainder of his guaranteed salary, Daniels took the issue to FIBA and ended up winning the case forcing Liaoning to pay up.

Daniels is no stranger to the Asian basketball scene having spent time in South Korea, Thailand and China. With his addition, the Guangdong Southern Tigers are an early favourite to win the CBA championship next year.
