Steve Giatzoglou joins Goyang Orions coaching staff in Korea

Reading Time: 1 minutes

Former player of Greek powerhouse Olympiacos, Steve Giatzoglou, has officially been hired as an assistant coach for the Goyang Orions.

Giatzoglou also played for the Greek national team where he won three European championships (1973, 1975, 1979). His coaching resume includes Olympiacos Piraeus, Aris Thessaloniki, Pagrati, Egaleo AO, Iraklis Thessaloniki, and AEK Athens, all clubs from the Greek League.

We are not sure where Giatzoglou’s connection to Korean basketball came from, but credit Goyang Orions for using a European coach to revamp their playing style.

Hello Nick Steve was a member of the Greek National basket ball team that participated in the 73 75 79 European championship but unfortunately didn’t won any of them. We bad to wait until 1987 to win our first championship against the mighty USSR.
