KBL’s number one foreign draft pick of the 2014 KBL import draft Leo Lyons has been traded from the last place Seoul Samsung Thunders to the third place Goyang Orions for foreign player Charles Garcia.

“I got a lot of love for the Seoul Samsung organization. The people there and my teammates gave me a great opportunity. It’s no hard feelings because I understand this is a business and they have to prepare for the future,” says Lyons.

This is the first major trade of the season and comes one-day after the KBL all-star game. Seoul Samsung will also receive rookie Lee Ho Hyun Bang (7th pick of the 2014 KBL draft) for D-League player Bang Kyung Soo.

Goyang is the sure winner in this trade as the second leading scorer in the league Lyons joins the league’s top scorer Troy Gillenwater. This might be a tanking move on Samsung’s part as the playoffs look to be way out of reach.

The two teams don’t play each other until February 25th which should make for a competitive matchup between the two squads.
