NBA scouts flock to Guangdong to see Chinese prospect

Four days after celebrating his twentieth birthday, some non-expected guests showed up to the 7’2″ Chinese NBA prospect Zhou Qi’s unofficial party.

As Zhou Qi arrived in Guangdong for the first game of their South China road trip, he was welcomed by a number of NBA scouts and former NBA swingman Shawn Marion who’s in China hosting a basketball clinic. While Zhou Qi has yet to officially declare for the upcoming NBA draft, experts such as draftexpress.com have him going 21st overall in the upcoming draft.

According to basketball.asia-basket.com, Zhou Qi is averaging 18 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks playing alongside former NBA big man Andray Blatche.

Guangdong would go on to win the game by a final score of 101 – 84. Zhou Qi finished with 14 points and eight rebounds on three-of-seven shooting.
