The Busan KT SonicBoom have decided to part ways with their second round draft pick Marcus Goree.
Gore is a 36-year-old forward who has made a successful career playing international basketball.
The KT SonicBoom will replace Goree with former South Florida Bull Terrence Leather. Leather is no stranger to the Korean Basketball League (KBL).
He’s also no stranger to the Philippines Basketball Association. Remember this?
In 2007, Leather made his KBL debut with the Seoul Samsung Thunder where he lasted two seasons averaging 25 points per game.
In 2009, Leather saw his numbers fall when he signed the Jeongju KCC Egis. He averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game.
The following season, the KCC Egis decided not to renew his contract but was picked up by the Seoul SK Knights. Leather revamped his game playing for the Knights as he averaged 20 points and nine rebounds per game in the 2010-2011 season.
Leather would play for his fourth KBL team when he signed with the Ulsan Mobis Pheobous where he played only 37 of the league’s 54 games. He finished the season playing in Iran for Foolad Mahan.
In 2013, signed with his fifth KBL team when the Goyang Orions decided to give leather a go. He only last a couple of months before being released.
There are only 10 teams the KBL, with his recent signing to the Busan KT SonicBoom, Leather will have played for more than half the teams in the league.
In May 2013, Leather was arrested in Ybor City, Florida for misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and open carrying of a firearm, as well as felony charges of destruction/tampering of evidence and being in possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
