Last year the Fujian Sturgeons were anchored by NBA veteran Delonte West, this year, Al Harrington will get the majority of touches as the Sturgeons and Harrington have officially locked up a one-year contract.

My name is Al Harrington and I get buckets

In 1998, Harrington became one of the few players to go straight from high school to the NBA when he was selected 25th overall by the Indiana Pacers. Harrington would become a perennial role player for the eight teams that he would play for throughout his 18-year NBA career.

It is highly doubtful that Delonte West will return to the squad after a controversial season with the the organization last season.

Harrington’s addition is very beneficial for up and coming Chinese star Wang Zhelin, who is a 7 footer with a soft touch around the hoop. Harrington was an assistant coach for the Washington Wizards’ summer league team and will take on the role as a player-coach in China.
