Sebastian Telfair has made a career out of following the footsteps of his older cousin Stephon Marbury.
Marbury is playing in Beijing while Telfair plays in Tianjin which is located about two-hours East of Beijing.
His numbers are solid. In 28 games played, Telfair is averaging 25-points, four rebounds and six assists.
On Feb. 4th, Telfair dropped 53-points in a win over Zhejiang. On Feb. 9th, Telfair was scheduled to play against Marbury in Beijing but a last minute scratch from the coach kept him inactive. Tianjin’s coach said he did not want to risk injury as the playoffs are right around the corner.
Telfair was a high school phenom in New York City. In 2004, ESPN followed Telfair’s senior year of high school to produce the award winning documentary Through the Fire. Telfair spent nine seasons in the NBA.
