Reports out of China state that the Guangdong Southern Tigers are in the process of releasing 18-year-old phenom Emmanuel Mudiay and replacing him with NBA veteran Will Bynum.
Guangdong has yet to make anything public, but Mudiay suffered an ankle injury on November 23rd and according to sources very familiar with the situation wants to be fully recovered before declaring for the 2015 NBA draft. In ten games played, Mudiay averaged 17 points, six assists, and four rebounds.
The Guangdong Southern Tigers are known to drop foreign players and replace them mid-season. Guangdong currently sits in 4th place with an 11-3 record. Bynum should bring veteran experience and toughness on the defensive end which is crucial during the playoffs.
