Nike and NBA prospect Zhou Qi have agreed on a shoe deal that will see Zhou Qi wearing Nikes for competition play.

After just one season in the CBA, the 18-year-old Zhou Qi was one of the top Chinese centers in the league averaging 14 points, four rebounds, and three blocks per game. While his team, Xinjiang, failed to make the playoffs, Zhou Qi is still working on his game in preparations for the 2015 Nike Hoop Summit this April in Portland.

The CBA and Chinese shoe company Li Ning have a league-wide contract that sees every Chinese player wearing Li Ning shoes. With Zhou Qi’s new contract, Nike will pay the CBA a fine every time Zhou Qi wears a shoe other than Li Ning. Nike is already paying this fine for player’s such as Yi JianLian and Wang Zhelin.
