A grand total of 162 million viewers tuned in to watch Stephon Marbury and the Beijing Ducks defeat the Xinjiang Flying Tigers to win their second CBA championship in three years.
According to a report released by Sina Sports, per game totals varied from 13 million to 54 million.
The CBA saw a substantial jump in viewership from last year’s final. Numbers from CCTV indicate this year’s Beijing viewership has jumped 259 times higher than the viewership of 2013.
Infront China colaborated with the CBA nine years ago. Since then, 25 brands including Li Ning and UPS have done promotions with the CBA. With more and more international brands jumping on board it shows the CBA’s influence for outside brands in China.
